GOOSE LAKE

Loon Haunt Outposts’ Goose Lake main camp is located on the Berens River, a 65-mile flight from Red Lake, Ontario.

Overview

Walleye and northern pike predominate Goose Lake and Nechigona Lake, which is only a short portage away on a well-maintained trail. Built from scratch starting in 1978, the main camp includes four cabins with a maximum of 24 guests to ensure privacy and personalized service. There is no other fishing camp located on either Goose Lake or Nechigona Lake. We strive to ensure that camp life is very relaxed and unstructured as we encourage guests to set their own pace.

As you will see by our conservation policy, we are very protective of our fantastic fishing resource. Our mission is for everyone to catch hundreds of fish as well as the big pike and walleye found in Goose Lake and Nechigona Lake.

We realized many years ago that the only way we could reach our goal of providing guests with an active fishery was to protect our breeding stock and minimize the pressure on the resource. We believe in our policy of not killing any large fish, only consuming small fish for fish dinners, and offering a NO take home fish package. As a result, this maximizes your opportunity to catch and photograph a trophy walleye or northern pike while also catching and releasing hundreds of fish during your stay.
